Krishna Banerjee has been the principle forces behind SMET. She is double MA in Philosophy from the Universities of Calcutta and Carleton (Ottowa, Canada). She has worked in banking In India as well as in The World bank, Washington DC. She has written children’s books in Bengali as well as a recent academic work on people migration in the Indian Sub-continent.
She set up several SMET centres in Kolkata, Krishnanagar, Midnapur where deprived children were provided teaching, educational and sporting materials as well as mid-day meals. Scholarships have also been provided to needy young adults.
Dr Arindam Banerjee is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Narayana Health NH Super-specialty and Multispecialty Hospitals, Howrah and Institute of Neurosciences, Kolkata. He is also the founder and Medical Director of Medline Nursing Home. He has worked and specialised in several countries.
He is an examiner of the SICOT Diploma, peer reviewer and regular faculty of SICOT (World Orthopaedic Congress with HQ in Brussels, Belgium). He is the Chair of the Education Committee (2022-24) in SICOT. He is also the Secretary General of the WOC (World Orthopaedic Concern) as well as Editor of its Newsletter. Concurrently he is holding the position of the Secretary General of the Indian Chapter of WOC. He is a past President of NAILS (National Association of Interlocking Surgeons) and AOTS (Association of Orthopaedic Trauma Surgeons) as well as the recent Chair of the Education Day Committee of SICOT (2019-21).
He has given oral presentations in over 100 National and International conferences including 10 World Congresses, the European Trauma Congress, British Orthopaedic Association, Indian Orthopaedic Association Conferences etc. He has held several senior positions in West Bengal Orthopaedic Association and is a founder member of the West Bengal Arthroplasty Society. Dr Banerjee is a consultant to the Orthopaedic industry including Meditube and the GLG groups.
Dr Banerjee’s focus for the trust is to set up sustainable adult education programs in West Bengal. He is trying to make the trust for professional by setting up a modern office, websit and oher tools for documentation of activities.
Arijit Mookerjee comes with a business background. He has been involved in the tea industry as a past director of ITP. Currently he is involved in project financing and trading in iron and steel. He is a commerce graduate from St Xaviers.
Dr Shurjo Banerjee is doctorate in Robotics from Univ Of Michigan. He comes with a background in AI which is vital for the future. He has recently joined a startup in the Silicon Valley as a robotic Engineer.
